The Whiskey Jack Restaurant

Whiskey Jack Restaurant is centrally located in Perrault Falls and is a must if you're traveling to or through our Adventure Area.

Whiskey Jack is a small mom-and-pop shop (Owned by locals Graham and Laura McDonald) that offers delicious food from Canadian famous poutine to the best pizza in the area,  and excellent burgers and entrees.  Whiskey Jack added a smoker in 2023 and another in 2024, so be sure to ask about their brisket and pulled pork specialities- and just hope they haven't run out that day!

They also offer ice-cream in the summer and Laura makes some extraordinary personalized drinks at the bar.  They occassionally offer live music, so call to find out their schedule, and reserve a seat.  With a newer patio, they now offer outdoor as well as indoor seating options.

Check out this feature article on them and just one more reason you'll love them.

Whiskey Jack is open for lunch and dinner usually 5 days a week- call them at 807-529-6453 to make sure they are open or to make reservations.  They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Find and Follow Whiskey Jack on Facebook Here!  By far they have the funniest FB page around!

Grocery, Gas, Medical, and Leisure

While our remote town is small, there are options if you need things.  Individual Lodges will usually have a supply of local and lodge specific souvenirs for you to enjoy.   Nordic Point Store sells staples and fishing licenses, and has a gift shop.  There is also a general store, Dutchies, that sells gas, live bait, ice, and has general things you may need.

The neighboring community of Ear Falls, just 20 miles north, provides more services including KD's Fine Foods Grocery Store (closed on Sundays), gas stations, Pearson's Auto shop (that also handles marine/boat needs), a post office, Leslie's Cafe and other restaurants, bars, laundry-mat, a park with small beach/swimming, and small town shopping including The Beauty Barn, Stems-n-Such, and 4 Seasons Sports Shop!

For those of you who want to slip in a game or two of golf, this 20 minute drive north will get you to a very nice and challenging 9 hole course and restaurant at the Ear Falls Golf Course.

A question often raised is the accessibility to medical facilities here in the north. We are fortunate to have an excellent medical clinic and ambulance service located just 20 minutes north at Ear Falls. Major hospitals are located either in Red Lake to the north or Dryden to the south, both 70 miles from Perrault Falls.

Surrounding areas offer fests during the summer such as Kenora's Wednesday Farmer's Markets, Ear Falls Trout Festival (August) and Fall Festival (September), and Dryden's Fair.  We also have a local artist operating Blueberry Broad Diversions, who offers watercolour, acrylics, painting, and craft workshops throughout the tourist season.  Helen offers group and private lessons, and can customize a workshop for you or a group- a great girls afternoon while the guys are fishing.  Check out her schedule here.
